WebChillingworth, William, an eminent English divine and controvertist, was born at Oxford, October, 1602. (The following account of him is modified from an article in the English Cyclopaedia, which is based on the Biographia Britannica.) In 1618 he was a scholar, and in 1628 a fellow, of Trinity College in that University. Chillingham Castle is a medieval castle in the village of Chillingham in the northern part of Northumberland, England. It was the seat of the Grey and Bennett (later Earls of Tankerville) families from the 15th century until the 1980s, when it became the home of Sir Edward Humphry Tyrrell Wakefield, 2nd Baronet, who is married to a member of the original Grey family.
