WebIt seems that 72s came with both D20E and D3OE exhaust manifold castings. I own both kinds and they are in fact identical. Some years ago, I bought and dismantled several Police cars. Most were 72s, a couple of 73s and one 74. All of these cars had D2OE heads. Dan is correct. Only the 72s came with special manifolds. Alvin

Likewise they have L shaped water passages and are drilled for the extra 4 intake bolts found only on the early 351 heads. IMO zero-deck should be done to any rebuild engine. 9+:1 is the minimum compression for any performance-oriented car with mild cam.
